The Thai caretaker Government on April 28 decided to extend the enforcement of the Internal Security Act to maintain order in the capital Bangkok and suburb areas.
It agreed to extend the law, which is due to expire from May 1, until June 13.
The extension was proposed by the Centre for Administration of Peace and Order, since conflicts and anti-government rallies still linger in Bangkok and neighbouring provinces such as Samut Prakarn, Patumthani and Nonthaburi.
The law is intended to prevent violence and disruption through strict curfews and other measures.
The same day, anti-government demonstrators led by Suthep Thaugsuban continued to march through the capital to call for more support for their movement.-VNA
