The central province of Thanh Hoa is speeding up the improvement of business environment and construction of infrastructure in industrial parks, especially in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, in order to draw more foreign direct investment.

Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The central province of Thanh Hoa is speeding upthe improvement of business environment and construction of infrastructure inindustrial parks, especially in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, in order to draw moreforeign direct investment.

The province instructedits Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre in collaboration withdepartments, agencies to provide advice for the provincial People’s Committee and SpecialInvestment Promotion Committee regarding highly feasible projects that match localplanning and socio-economic development conditions.

Plans to meet andintroduce projects to major European firms, especially those interested inexpanding their operations in Vietnam, are also scheduled.

Authorities of districts, towns and city will review the planning on theuse of land and construction to prevent overlapping, thus creating the bestconditions to attract investment.

They are also toprepare conditions in terms of land, infrastructure, labour and energy to meet demand of foreigninvestors who look to shift to new business locations.

About ongoing FDI projects, agencies concerned are hastening procedures relatedto investment, planning, construction, land, environment and electronic publicadministrative services.

So far, the province has lured five FDI projects worth nearly 45 million USD./.

During the pre-Tet peak, several routes from Ho Chi Minh City to destinations such as Hue, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, Chu Lai and Dong Hoi have recorded booking rates above 90%, with some reaching 100%. In contrast, return flights from localities to Ho Chi Minh City remain low, with many flights reporting booking rates below 35% and several operating as ferry flights to return aircraft.
