The Embassy of India has decided to coordinate with many provinces of Vietnam to organize the 8th International Yoga Day with the theme "Yoga for Humanity"
This year, Vietnam was selected by the Government of India as one of the countries participating in the Global Yoga Ring program.
Throughout June 21, India's national broadcaster Doordarshan will broadcast live coverage of India's International Yoga Day celebrations around the world, according to the host country's time zone.
To serve the program, the Embassy of India cooperated with Quang Ninh province to organize a yoga performance event in Ha Long Bay. About 3,000 people participated in the Yoga performance on June 21.
In addition to Quang Ninh, the Indian Embassy also held multiple events to celebrate International Yoga Day in 8 other provinces and cities of Vietnam, including Ha Nam, Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam.
Yoga is an ancient Indian tradition that combines physical, mental and spiritual activities to achieve harmony of body and mind. Recognizing the benefits and popularity of Yoga, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga./.
