Toyota Motor Vietnam enjoys strong growth in production, sales in H1

– Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) suppliedto the market 19,678automobiles in the first six months of 2021, up 16 percent over the same periodlast year, the firm has announced.

The result brought the cumulate production of the Japanesefirm to 593,770 vehicles of all kinds.

In the January -June period, the sales of Toyota Vietnam reached 29,857 units (including Lexusmodel). Especially, Vios maintainsthe No. 1 position in segment B. Besides, the imported Corolla Cross model was also among best-sellers with 11,575 units sold after nearly 11 months since its debut in Vietnam.

Although affected by COVID-19, TMV still ensured export of parts and components with turnover of 33.9 million USD, up 64 percent compared to the same periodin 2020. In addition, Toyota Vietnam contributed to the national budgetover 399 million USD.

Besides, Toyota MotorVietnam has donated 10 billion VND to the nationalCOVID-19 vaccine fund and provided a real-timePCR system for COVID-19 testing worth 1,57 billion VND forVinh Phuc province. 

The firm’s agents nationwide alsodonated over 2 billion VND to the national COVID-19 vaccine fund.

In addition, Toyota has joined hands withMinistry of Natural Resources and Environment to organise a tree planting programme in response to the action month for the environment,towards the government’s direction of 1 billion tree project in Chu Van An Park in Hanoi./.

Vietnam targets 4.5 billion USD in cashew exports for 2025

Figures from the first six months show cashew exports reached 346,800 tonnes, earning 2.36 billion USD, a drop of 2.7% in volume but a surge of 20.4% in value annually. The rise was largely attributed to a significant increase in export prices, which helped offset lower shipment volumes.

Hai Phong expects strong wave of investment from APEC member economies
