The southern province of Tra Vinh earned nearly 57.5 million USD from exports in the first two month of this year, up 81.5 percent year-on-year.
Of the revenue, footwear products made a major proportion with 36 million USD, followed by seafood with over 11 million USD and rice with 4.4 million USD.
The province has taken various measures to promote business and production in order to realise its target of earning 325 million USD from exports in this year, a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent.
In addition, it has focused on developing 50,000 hectares of high-quality rice and diversifying varieties for aquaculture while increasing trade promotion and providing market information to local producers and exporters.
Furthermore, Tra Vinh has given priority to export firms and the upgrade and modenisation of for-export farm and seafood processing plants, helping increase competitiveness of local export products.-VNA
