Vietnamese badminton player Vu Thi Trang now ranks 75th in the world based on the Badminton World Federation's latest figures.
Trang, the national champion, achieved an eight-step rise compared with her previous ranking following her strong performance at the world championship in Denmark and at the Vietnam Open weeks ago.
She is Vietnam's second female athlete to make it to the world's top 80 after Le Ngoc Nguyen Nhung, who once ranked 65th.
Also in the women's category, Le Thu Huyen dropped by 10 ranks to 187. In the men's category, player Nguyen Tien Minh slid down one step to 24 and Pham Cao Cuong fell by 39 steps to 345.-VNA
