The Vietnamese team opened the eight day of the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar with a gold medal bagged by runner Nguyen Van Lai in the men’s 10,000m event.
Four Vovinam (Vietnamese martial art) artists, including Nguyen Van Cuong, Nguyen Binh Dinh, Huynh Khac Nguyen and Tran Cong Tao, brought home the second gold in the performance category.
Meanwhile, table tennis players were defeated by their Singaporean rivals, scooping only two bronzes in the men’s and women’s events.
Two more bronzes were earned by Pentaque players after they failed at the triple semifinals.
