U23 Vietnam to convene for friendly match

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam U23 team will convene on February 3 toprepare for the friendly match with Malaysia on February 7.

Accordingto deputy chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan, theVFF will call on 25 players who performed outstandingly during the ongoingnational premier league, the recent International U21 Football Tournament andinternational U22 friendly tournament in China.

“TheVFF will create the best conditions for the team to train and play this year,”said Tuan.

TheMalaysian U23 team lost to Vietnam 1-2 at the qualifying round of the AFC U-23Championship in 2014 and at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore in2015, Vietnam beat Malaysia 5-1.

TheMalaysian team will be present in HCM City on February 4 for the friendlymatch, which will be a warm up for Vietnam to compete in the 2018 AFC U-23Championship’s qualifying round in July and the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia inAugust.-VNA
