Unemployment insurance fund benefits 8.34 million pandemic-hit workers

A total of 8.34 million workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic have received assistance from the unemployment insurance fund, according to the Vietnam Social Security (VSS).

Hanoi (VNA) – A total of 8.34 million workers affected by theCOVID-19 pandemic have received assistance from the unemployment insurance fund,according to the Vietnam Social Security (VSS).

Accordingly, as of the end of November 1, over 19.8 trillionVND (872.9 million USD) in cash relief been granted to more than 7.79 millionpeople currently participating in unemployment insurance and 550,000 others whoalready stopped making contributions to the fund.

The relief provision is to implement the Government’s Resolution No. 116/NQ-CPand the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 28/QD-TTg on assistance for workers andemployers hit by the pandemic.

The VSS has also said that more than 2.22 million workers of61,532 units will benefit from different support policies in the time ahead./.
