Unprivileged children from Thailand have won the championship at a football competition for unprivileged children held in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the final match on May 12, the Thai children defeated a team from Hanoi with a score 7-3.

The third place belonged to the host, Ho Chi Minh City ’s team.

The competition, jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh City Cong An (Ho Chi Minh City Police)’s Newspaper and the Vietnam Sports Newspaper, drew the participation of two foreign teams – Thailand and the Philippines – and six domestic teams.

The competition is a playing field for children in difficulties, providing a chance for them to meet and learn from each other and practice sports for their health, said the organisers./.
