US firm helps boost tra, basa exports to US

Representatives from the US Mazzetta company and the Vietnam-France Animal Feed Production Joint Stock Company (Proconco) have worked with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in an effort to boost the export of tra and basa fish to the US.

During theworking trip from March 24-26, the representatives also discussed issues such asfish origins and sustainable development in the aquaculture sector withofficials at the An Giang provincial Department of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment and the provincial Association of Fisheries.

Therepresentatives visited local fish farms and advised Vietnamese fish exporterson the standards and requirements of the US seafood market, in which feed playsan important role in ensuring seafood quality.

Proconco has agreed toinvest in research and development to produce quality feed for tra and basa fishand provide Vietnamese farmers with technical support to ensure that theirproducts meet the North American standards.

First “green lane” durian shipment exported to China

​Under the “green lane” process, quality control begins at the cultivation stage, including soil sampling and monitoring, and continues through harvesting and processing, with traceability labels attached to trees and applied to fruit at the time of picking. It also allows plant quarantine procedures and the issuance of certificates of origin (C/O) directly in the localities where the orchards are located.
