The American jazz quintet Five Play will perform in the central cities of Thanh Hoa and Vinh on June 12 and 13, as part of activities the US Embassy in Hanoi is organising to improve mutual understanding between the two countries’ peoples.
According to the Embassy, the quintet will play for two hours with Vietnamese band “Coi nguon Viet” (Vietnamese origin) in Thanh Hoa province on June 12 before having an exchange with the local youth.
From June 13-14, they will perform at Vinh University, visit SOS Children Village in central Nghe An province and end their tour to five Vietnamese cities.
Earlier, the five-female group from New York toured Hanoi , Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province and Ho Chi Minh City, performing free public concerts, talking to students and appearing at Nha Trang Sea Festival.
The musicians hail from the world-renowned Diva Jazz orchestra, founded in 1999. The group’s music is a combination of traditional jazz and each member’s creative inspiration.-VNA
