The English version of a collection of poems in English version by Nguyen Trai, a Vietnamese national hero and great poet, was introduced at Le Khiet high school for gifted students in the central province of Quang Ngai on May 26.
Translated by poet Nguyen Do and edited by US Prof. Paul Hoover, the “Beyond the Court Gate” collection of 156 poems was published by the US’s Counterpath Press publishing house last year..
At the event, poet Nguyen Do, editor Paul Hoover and literature critic Pham Xuan Nguyen read five poems in the collection in both the original and translated versions and introduced other Vietnamese famous works in English version./.
