Vietnam among top football teams in Southeast Asia

Vietnam’s national football team were named the third best side in the Southeast Asian region in the February rankings released by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on February 13.

The team remained 143rd in the world rankings, despite playing no matches in February.

The Philippines and Myanmar finished slightly higher, at 127th and 130th, respectively.

Next come Thailand (147), Singapore (150), Malaysia (150), Laos (156), Indonesia (158), Cambodia (189) and East Timor (190).

In the wider Asian region, Vietnam ranked 23rd while the top two belonged to Iran and Japan.

Spain still lead the rankings, followed by Germany, Argentina and Portugal.-VNA
