“Optimism among privately held businesses (PHBs) worldwide bounced back and businesses in Chile, India, Australia, Vietnam and Brazil were the most hopeful lot in the world,” as quoted by the Press Trust of India (PTI) in reference to Grant Thornton’s study on Jan. 4.

Not only did the optimism level among global businesses increase, but as many as 70 percent of the companies surveyed in India are also bullish about the future, the study said.

However, India has lost its top position in the Index for the first time in five years, and it is placed as the second most optimistic country after Chile.

The International Business Report surveyed over 7,400 PHBs across 36 economies, and it exhibited that the optimistic level in Chile, India, Australia, Vietnam and Brazil is over 70 percent./.
