The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on March 14 launched the Vietnam Annual Business Report 2011, which presents an assessment on the development of Vietnamese enterprises and changes in the business environment in the country.
The report evaluated the capacity of Vietnam ’s enterprises on the four aspects of labour, finance, innovation and market access, while analysing business activities in accordance with the selected annual theme.
At the announcement ceremony, Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of VCCI said Vietnamese enterprises should strengthen business links through participation in value chains, production networks and establishment of agricultural and industrial clusters.
This link will help businesses achieve sustainable development and improve productivity and efficiency, Loc added.
According to Pham Thi Thu Hang, General Secretary of VCCI, the report also forecasts a difficult year for Vietnam ’s economy this year.
VCCI proposed that the Government should take drastic measures to stabilise the country’s macroeconomic situation and curb inflation in order to create a favourable business environment for enterprises.
The chamber also recommended businesses continue their restructuring processes, work to improve labour productivity and product quality in order to join global production networks and value chains.-VNA
