The Government Inspectorate and the World Bank on Dec. 9 launched the Vietnam Anti-Corruption Initiative (VACI) for 2011 in Hanoi.
The programme is co-sponsored by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the UK International Development Agency and the embassies of Sweden, Finland and Belgium.
With the theme, “Strengthening public integrity and enforcing laws to combat corruption effectively”, the programme aims to foster innovative ideas to raise public awareness on the enforcement of laws to prevent and combat corruption.
The VACI 2011 programme will include a two-round competition for seeking creative and highly feasible ideas on law enforcement to make the fight against corruption effective, and a forum for sharing knowledge on anti-corruption laws and experiences drawn from the law enforcement against the scourge.
The entries should focus on topics such as improving transparency, ethics at work, information access rights and legal enforcement./.
