A Vietnamese delegation led by Chief Auditor of the State Audit Office of Vietnam Dinh Tien Dung is attending the 12 th Congress of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) in Jaipur , India from Feb.29 - March 3.
The congress focuses on discussion of financial situations from 2009-2011 and the budget and training activities of ASOSAI.
Participants also deliberated ASOSAI’s mid-term report on implementation of a strategic plan for the 2011-2015 period, its cooperation with the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) and reports on the information technology audit of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) working group.
On the sidelines of the congress, 10 state audit agencies from ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI) agreed to propose an action plan for four related committees – the Strategic Plan Committee, Rules and Procedures Committee, Knowledge Sharing Committee and Training Committee.
Chief Auditor Dung, who is also Chairman of the Strategic Plan Committee, presented the Committee’s recent activities and its future action plan.
Previously, on February 28, Dung and his Myanmar counterpart Lunn Maung signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in this sector between the two countries. The same day, Dung attended the 44 th meeting of ASOSAI’s Governing Board in the 2009-2012 period.
In the framework of the event, Dung also held a number of bilateral meetings with many members of ASOSAI to further promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the field of audit between Vietnam and other countries.
At the plenary session of the ASOSAI Congress on March 3, participants will vote for members of the Governing Board and Auditing Committee of ASOSAI in the 2012-2015 period.-VNA
