Vietnam bags second gold medal at SEA Games

Wushu artist Hoang Thi Phuong Giang on December 8 brought in the second gold medal for Vietnam at the ongoing 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.

Wushu artist Hoang ThiPhuong Giang on December 8 brought in the second gold medal for Vietnamat the ongoing 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.

Giangfinished first in the women’s Changquan (long fist) category with 9.68points while Myanmar’s Yan Ni Tan was placed second with 9.60 points.

The first gold medal of Vietnam was also earned by aWushu artist, Duong Thuy Vi, who topped the women’s Taolu Jianshu eventon December 7.

Therefore, the country’s Wushu team has completed its target of one to two gold medals in the Taolu category.

Vietnam set a goal of gaining at least 70 gold medals at the 27th SEA Games, which will last until December 22.

At the last competition held in Jakarta two years ago, the countryranked third, winning 96 gold medals, following the host Indonesia with182 and Thailand with 109.-VNA

From Berlin, the Vietnamese guitar fosters cultural connections to global community

This year, 30 contestants from 15 countries entered the competition, with five finalists set to compete on October 10 at Ballhaus Prinzenallee in Berlin. The programme also includes a gala concert, masterclasses and a guitar exhibition. Long’s compositions have been selected as compulsory pieces, introducing international musicians to Vietnamese music.

Hanoi launches project to build cultural industry hub in Old Quarter

The project, covering about 3,862sqm. at 17 Nguyen Thien Thuat and 40 Thanh Ha, includes around 2,317sqm. of construction area.
