Vietnam beat Indonesia 4-0 in World Cup qualifiers

Vietnam trounced Indonesia 4-0 in a match of Group G of the second round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers which took place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on June 7 (local time).

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamtrounced Indonesia 4-0 in a match of Group G of the second round of the 2022FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers which took place in the United Arab Emirates(UAE) on June 7 (local time).

Vietnam furthertighten their grip on the top of the group with 14 points.

Nguyen Tien Linh openedthe scoreboard for the team in six minutes into the second half, before NguyenQuang Hai, substitute Nguyen Cong Phuong and Vu Van Thanh extended the lead.

In their previousface-off in the qualifiers in October 2019, Vietnam defeated their Indonesianrivals 3-1.

State President NguyenXuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated the squadon its victory, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The team also receiveda bonus of 1 billion VND (43,590 USD) from the VFF.

Vietnam will playMalaysia on June 11 and host the UAE four days later./.
