A Vietnamese business delegation attended several meetings with Argentinean businesses in Buenos Aires to inquire into the possibilities of technology transfer, setting up joint ventures and look for potential sales agents.
At a business forum jointly held by the Vietnam Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce on May 28, delegates from both sides spoke highly of trade and economic cooperation potential of the two countries.
They shared the view that besides challenges, the global economy downturn also offers opportunities for the two countries to strengthen win-win ties in the framework of South-South cooperation.
The same day, the Vietnam-Argentina Centre also organised an exchange between the two sides’ businesses.
In recent years, two way trade between Vietnam and Argentina has seen a strong development, surpassing 1 billion USD for the first time in 2012, up 7.4 percent year-on-year, according to statistics from the Vietnam General Customs Department. The figure for the first quarter of this year was 224 million USD, a 33 percent increase from the same period last year.
The Vietnamese business delegation is scheduled to leave for Chile on May 29, where they will also meet with local companies.-VNA
