Celebrations of the seventh Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day officially started at a ceremony in Hano on the theme of “Cultural Heritage and Tourism Week of the Northern Central Region”.
Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai underlined that the theme of this year’s Heritage Day (Nov. 23) aims to honour the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage and popularise the images of Vietnam and its people to the world, contributing to the national socio-economic development.
There will be discussions on the cultural heritage of the region, a lullaby song festival, a show of fashion for the elderly, and music performances staged by artists from Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. as well as a craft village festival.
Jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the relevant ministries and departments, and People’s Committees of the north central provinces, the event hopes to provide an insight into cultural heritages of the north central region.
The week is part of a promotion campaign for the National Tourism Year 2012, which highlights the central coastal region./.
