On December 9, 2025, in New Delhi, UNESCO inscribed the Dong Ho folk painting craft on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, recognising its unique cultural value and the dedication of the artisan community. The UNESCO inscription provides crucial support for protecting skills and knowledge at risk of fading, while engaging younger generations and the wider community in its preservation.
