Vietnam lost 1-2 to Japan in their first match at the Ho Chi Minh City International Futsal Tournament at the Phu Tho Gymnasium on November 20.
Japan scored two consecutive goals at the 15th and 16th minutes. Though Vietnam's Van Vu narrowed the score one minute later, he failed to make a draw score although the team opened more attacks with enormous support from home fans.
This is the second win for Japan at the four-side tournament. The Asian champion defeated Thailand 3-0 in the first match of the tournament on November 19. Goals came at the 31st, 32nd and 35th minutes after Thailand failed to break Japan's strong defense.
In the next match, Japan will play world champions Brazil while Vietnam meets Thailand. Earlier, Brazil defeated Asian first runner-up Thailand 5-1.
The November 19-22 tournament will provide a bonus of 5,000 USD to the winners. The two runners-up will receive 3,000 USD and 1,000 USD.-VNA
