Vietnam beat Australia in the third day of the 2014 VTV International Women's Volleyball Cup in the northern province of Bac Ninh on May 19. The team won 25-6, 25-14 and 25-19.
With the victory, Vietnam ranks third after the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Thailand.
Vietnam beat Yunnan of China in the second match in the tournament on May 18. The team won 25-15, 25-20 and 25-16.
On May 17, the team had lost to Thailand 3-0 in the opening match.
On May 19, DPRK defeated Yunnan of China 4-1 and Thailand defeated Kazakhstan 3-0.
Vietnam will meet DPRKon May 20.
This year, a Vietnamese team and others from Thailand, Australia, DPRK, Kazakhstan and China's Yunnan are taking part.
The six teams are playing in a round-robin format to select four teams for the semi-finals.
