Vietnam missed out on a place in the Asian Football Federation U19 Women's Football Championship finals after failing in the second qualifiers.
Despite a 3-1 win over Chinese Taiwan in the last match of the group on Dec. 5 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Vietnam only finished second in the pool with six points.
Vietnam previously lost 2-1 to Myanmar in the opening game but bounced back strongly to thrash India 10-0.
Myanmar took the group with seven points after wins over Vietnam and India and a draw against Chinese Taiwan.
Myanmar will face Thailand in the final on Dec 9 to decide the winner of the qualifiers.
The winners of the qualifiers secure the only ticket to the finals and get a chance to compete against the five powerhouses: Japan, Australia, China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea. The final round of the AFC championship will be held next year.-VNA
