Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese female footballers are due to meet their Indonesian rivals in the quarter-finals of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Futsal Championship 2018 on May 9.

The match will take place at Bangkok Arena in Thailand.

Indonesia, the runners-up of Group A, are arch rivals of Vietnam, and the two sides are evenly matched for talent, said Vietnamese coach Truong Quoc Tuan.

Vietnam gained three wins to top Group B and reach the quarter-finals. The team beat Chinese Taipei 1-0, Bangladesh 7-0, and Malaysia 3-1. These wins will be a driving force for Vietnam to perform in the upcoming match.

At the Southeast Asian Games last year, Vietnam defeated Indonesia 2-1 to take the silver medal, while Indonesia received the bronze medal.

Vietnam will have its best line-up for the match today after their key player Nguyen Thi Chau recovered from her injury.-VNA
