(Photo: VNA) Quang Nam (VNA) – Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation ofLabour (VGCL), on November 4 handed over 1 billion VND (43,190 USD) toresidents affected by Storm Molave in central Quang Nam province.
On this occasion, 500million VND has also been given to VGCL members who have been hit by the storm.
The same day, theVGCL delegation presented 20 million VND to the Quang Nam General Hospital, and relief aid to the residents who were injured in a landslide Ta Leng commune, Nam TraMy district, and are being treated at the hospital.
Extending his sympathiesover storm-triggered losses to local residents and labourers, Khang expressedhis hope that they will soon overcome the difficulties and soon stabilise theirlives.
Sincelate September, 235 people in the central region have been listed as dead ormissing from storms and floods, which have also caused estimated economiclosses of about 17 trillion VND, according to a Government report to theNational Assembly on November 2./.
