The construction of a high school in Luang Namtha town in the Lao province of Luang Namtha started on December 14.
The project with a total investment of 86 billion VND, mostly from Vietnamese non-refundable aid, is being carried out by Vietnam’s northern province of Vinh Phuc. Luang Namtha province contributed 10 billion VND.
The new 3-ha school will have a four storey building with 40 classrooms for 2,000 students, an assembly room, a two storey office building and a library.
Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Luang Namtha province’s Deputy Governor Phanthong Phutthamma expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Party, Government, people and the province of Vinh Phuc for their help to build hospital, cultural palace and schools, which have contributed greatly to the province’s socio-economic development.
The school project is expected to be completed by August 2012./.
