The Viet Flight Training JSC (VFT) of Vietnam will provide pilot training for the Cambodia Angkor Air (CAA) under an agreement signed in Phnom Penh on August 12.
The training will cost about 3 million USD, financed by the Vietnamese Government.
At a signing ceremony, VFT Director Nguyen Nam Lien said with its capacity and experience, his firm is competent to provide high quality training courses for CAA.
Tekreth Samrach, Chairman of CAA’s Board of Directors, who is also Secretary of State of Civil Aviation, said he appreciates support that the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has given to CAA since its establishment in 2009.
He said he believes that the VFT’s training will enable CAA to have a contingent of qualified pilots, who will help with the development of both CAA and the aviation industry.
VFT was established in 2008 as a joint venture of Vietnam Airlines, the military-run Vietnam Helicopter, the Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company, HIPT Group, and France’s ESMA Aviation Academy.-VNA
