A national circus gala to mark the First World Circus Day (April 17) will take place in Hanoi on April 12 and 13.
Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation (VCF) Vu Ngoan Hop said that the gala, which is to be held by the VCF to preserve and promote circus arts, draws the participation of circus performers from troupes from Hanoi and HCM City.
At the gala, circus fans will be entertained with the “superman swing” show that won the gold medal and audience’s favourite prize at the third international circus festival in Spain and other shows that won prizes at international and national circus festivals.
On April 17, the VCF will organise a special programme to mark the First World Circus Day, Hop said, adding that the Day will also be celebrated in Canada, South Africa, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, India and Japan.
The VCF is busily preparing for the International Circus Festival slated for August 6-11 in Vietnam to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, Hop added./.
