Vietnam joins world baking competition

Vietnamese bakers will take part for the first time in the Louis Lesaffre Cup’s Asian selection round, scheduled to take place from May 26 – 28 in Guangzhou, China.

Vietnamese bakers will take part for the first time in the LouisLesaffre Cup’s Asian selection round, scheduled to take place from May26 – 28 in Guangzhou, China.

Three prominentbakers to join the competition include Vo Thanh Tuan from BigCsupermarket, Nguyen Truong Kim Phung from ABC Bakery and Nguyen Van Hungfrom Caravelle Hotel. They will compete in three categories: Loaves,Viennes Pastries and Artistic Piece, respectively.

The event, one of the world’s largest baking competition, draws theparticipation of seven regional countries, including China , Japan ,Indonesia , the Philippines , the Republic of Korea , Australiaand Vietnam .

The best two teams at the round will go on competing in the Bakery World Cup, scheduled to be held in France in 2012./.
