Vietnam leads at 2nd Southeast Asian Go Championship

Vietnam ranked first at the second Southeast Asian Go Championship held in Malaysia from December 6-7, with 17 points.

Thailand came in second with 15 points and Singapore , third, with 14 points.
The five Vietnamese players showed their best performance at thetournament, bringing home one gold in team category and one silver andone bronze in individual’s event.

The first place is one of thesteps for Vietnam to strongly develop go game in the time to come.The sport was introduced in the country in 1993.

The championshipdrew the participation of 28 players from five regional countries,including Malaysia , Indonesia , Singapore , Thailand andVietnam.-Source:VNA

Vietnam's 22-match unbeaten run draws praise from RoK media

Under the tournament format, the semifinals and final will be played over two legs. Vietnam will travel to Malaysia for the first leg on August 16 before hosting the second leg on August 19.
