Vietnam went down in the history of the Southeast Asian netball championship after becoming the first country to win both the men and women’s categories in the same event.
At the fourth Southeast Asian Netball Championship, which concluded in HCM City on September 27, Vietnam’s men team beat Thailand 37-36 in the match final to finish top overall.
On women’s sides, after a disappointing draw start with Hong Kong, China, Vietnam’s women side won the next three matches to rank first on the overall ranking.
This is the fourth successive time the Vietnamese girls have won the title.
The championship attracted teams from Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam in the men’s event and Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam in the women’s division.-VNA
