Vietnam Pictorial (VNP) of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on Oct. 12 officially added Lao as the eighth language on its website http://vietnam.vnanet.vn .

The event marks the 57 th anniversary of the first publication of VNP magazine (Oct. 15).

Vu Trong Kim, Vice President and General Secretary of the VietnamFatherland Front Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam-LaosFriendship Association; Nguyen Duc Loi, VNA Director General; and HoaLaochong Cua, Counsellor of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, attended thelaunch.

Together with the printed version in Laolanguage first published in July 1978, the new web page is expected toprovide readers with rapid and accurate information about Vietnam andLaos , contributing to boosting the special solidarity and friendshipbetween the two countries.

Available in 125countries and territories, VNP has worked as an important externalchannel of the Party and State over the past 57 years with bothtraditional and electronic versions.

VNP is also working on other information genres such as television, photo slide shows and exhibitions./.

Vietnam's Z121 Vina Pyrotech impressed spectators at Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 with a display deeply rooted in national identity. Using modern pyrotechnic technology, the team recreated the image of the palm tree, a symbol of the ancestral land of Phu Tho, before closing with a spectacular synchronised fireworks finale set to the iconic song Noi vong tay lon (Joining Hands Together), drawing enthusiastic applause from audiences.

Excavation for war remains begins in Quang Ngai

Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Steering Committee for the search, recovery and identification of martyrs’ remains, said the mission aims to conduct definitive excavation and verification to bring home the remains of martyrs from Regiment 24A, the B3 Front, Special Forces Battalion 406, and Infantry Battalion 304, who fell during the 1968 Tet Offensive.
