Vietnam’s men’s football team nosedived 16 spots to 143th place in the world football federation (FIFA)’s rankings, which was released on July 9.
The position, which is the country’s lowest since 2013, costed Vietnam the top place in Southeast Asia, reducing the country to third place.
Phillipines resumed the leading position of the region after gaining 13 spots to rise to 124th place, ahead of Thailand, who are on 140th place.
Globally, Argentina rose two spots to top the list followed by Germany in second place and Belgium in third position.-VNA
