Vietnam ready to host ASIAD 2019

Vietnam has entered the race to host the 18 th Asian Games (ASIAD), with Taiwan ( China ), Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also in the running .

The Prime Minister has approved a campaign to promote the hosting of the event.

Accordingly, a campaign committee will be set up with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in charge.

Asia biggest sporting event is proposed to take place in Hanoi in November, 2019, according to Vietnam ’s submitted plan.

Fourteen other venues for the competition are proposed to be situated in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, the central province of Binh Thuan and the northern provinces of Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam and Phu Tho.

Approximately 10,000 athletes, trainers and coaches from 45 Asian countries and territories would compete in 35 sports at the Games.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will announce the host for the Games at its next general meeting in Macau, China on November 3, this year./.
