VNA hailed as vital link between Vietnam and Cambodia

On the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on September 15, Sokmom Nimul, Director General of the Cambodian News Agency (AKP), gave an interview to VNA correspondents in Phnom Penh. The AKP Director General highlighted the role of the national news agency in Vietnam’s revolutionary press, and in promoting mutual understanding between the Vietnamese people and the world, particularly with Cambodia.

Ninety-five years ago on June 21, 1926, the first issue of Thanh nien (Youth) newspaper representing the voice of Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (aka Ho Chi Minh) was published, marking the birth of Vietnam’s revolutionary press as the country remained under the yoke of French colonial rule.
