The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang and the Republic of Korea Culture Institute (KCI) are co-hosting Vietnam-RoK Culture Days 2011 which opened on Oct. 14.
Attending the opening were the RoK Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Oh Jae Hack, representatives from KCI, the RoK’s non-government organisations, businesses and volunteers.
Speaking at the opening, Vice Chairwoman of the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Tran Kim Mai said the event is an occasion for the local people to gain a better understanding of the special characters of RoK’s culture, economy and society.
It helps to introduce the locality’s images to the RoK’s country and people, contributing to promoting trade ties, friendship and mutual development cooperation between RoK and Vietnam, Mai stressed.
In the framework of the event, a range of activities including a photo exhibition, goods fair, workshop to promote investment of RoK in Tien Giang province, art performance programmes and sporting events will also be organised./.
