Under the MoU, 5,400 Vietnamese labourers are eligible to register forjobs in the RoK and a maximum of 2,900 of them will be chosen to workin the manufacturing and construction sectors in the host country,according to Nhan Dan (People) newspaper.
Theagreement covers workers who have not been chosen by RoK employers inthe past, despite passing Korean language examinations by March 2014. Italso supports the reconsideration of workers who came back theirhomeland within the allotted time and were qualified for languageefficiency after December 2011.
Vietnam now hasthree months and 10 days to deliver candidate files, which expire in oneyear, to the RoK for employers to make their selections.
This MoU, an extension of the previous one which ended on December 31,2014, is part of Vietnam’s efforts to reduce the number of Vietnameselabourers illegally residing in the RoK.-VNA
