Vietnam shines at Thailand Finswimming World Cup

The Vietnamese diving team finished among the top rankings at the 18th CMAS Finswimming World Cup 2024 Round 4 in Phuket, Thailand, with 26 gold medals, 27 silvers, and 16 bronzes, after three days of exciting and intense competition.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese diving team finished among the top rankings at the 18th CMAS Finswimming World Cup 2024 Round 4 in Phuket, Thailand, with 26 gold medals, 27 silvers, and 16 bronzes, after three days of exciting and intense competition.

Notably, Vu Dang Nhat Nam set a new Asian record in the men's 400m bi-fins event with 3 minutes 32 seconds 37, breaking his previous record of 3 minutes 32 seconds 49.

These achievements mark a significant advancement for the sport in Vietnam.

According to the Vietnamese diving team’s coaching staff, core athletes and young divers performed exceptionally well in this tournament, demonstrating their skills and expertise.

Vietnam sent 34 athletes to the World Cup, taking part in almost all events for seniors and juniors.

As many as 200 athletes of 22 teams take part in this tournament, vying for official slots at the World Games 2025./.
