The 2015 Vietnam-Taiwan forum for digital technology was held on July 7 in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss the era of digital economy with a focus on cloud banking services and e-commerce.
Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong said the forum has opened up opportunities for trade and investment between Vietnam and Taiwan (China).
Ho Chi Minh City encourages the business community of the two sides to boost cooperation in online services and e-commerce, Hong noted.
The city will expand international cooperation and trade with countries and territories worldwide as part of its plan to restructure the local economy and facilitate industrialisation and modernisation, she added.
According to Kuang – Chung Liang, Head of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, the event brought together existing Taiwanese investors in Vietnam and over 20 leading Taiwanese firms in e-commerce.
