Vietnam was the number 1 fish provider for Colombia in 2013, with a 36 percent market share in the South American country.
It was followed by Argentina (9 percent), Cote d’lvoire (8 percent) and Ecuador (8 percent).
According to data from the Virtual Business Centre (Centro Virtual de Negocios - CVN), last year, Colombia imported 78,000 tonnes of fish worth 188 million USD, up 41 percent in volume compared to the previous year.
Among the country’s imports, tuna and tra fish made up respective 19 percent and 16 percent of its frozen fish market.
