Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam weredrawn into Group B in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament 2020 AsianQualifiers Round Two at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The SEA Games champions will play Jordan, hostsUzbekistan and Hong Kong in the group stage.

The round sees 12 teams divided into threegroups of four, with the group winners advancing to the final round ofqualifiers.

In Group A, India will face hosts Myanmar,Indonesia and Nepal. Chinese Taipei, Iran and hosts Palestine will join thePhilippines in Group C. 

In the final round, the successful sides willjoin Australia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea,China and Thailand in two groups of four, with the top two teams from eachgroup advancing to the play-offs.

The two winners from the play-offs will qualifyfor the 2020 Tokyo Olympics along with hosts and reigning Asian championsJapan.

The qualifiers will be played from April 1-9.

The AFC also held a draw for the U19Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 Qualifiers Round Two on February 13. 

The Vietnamese team are in Group B with theRepublic of Korea, Iran and Lebanon. Group A includes Australia, Uzbekistan,Nepal and Myanmar.

As host of the group, Vietnam are consideredfavourites to secure a berth in the finals along with a strong the Republic of Korea.

Matches will be played on April 26-30.

The group winners and runners-up will join hostnation Thailand, reigning champions Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Koreaand China in the finals from October 27 to November 9.-VNA
