The 5 th Asian Beach Games (ABG 5) will be held in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa in June, according to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.
The event is expected to draw the participation of about 2,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories.
ABG 5 will cover 15 events, including kabbadi, wrestling, football, sepak takraw, volleyball, body building, marathon swimming, wood ball, pencak silat, wind surfing, water board and board racing. Shuttle cocking, martial art vovinam and diving are waiting for approval from the Olympic Council of Asia to become the games’ event.
Vietnamese athletes are expected to compete in all events and set to rank between sixth and eighth.
The biennial event will take place in China in 2012 and Thailand in 2014./.
