Vietnam’s development efforts, its cultural traditions and tourism destinations were the focus of talks held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 22.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Dinh Thao briefed participants on Vietnam’s history and remarkable achievements in its renewal process.
Meanwhile, Ezequiel Ramoneda, Coordinator of the Centre for Southeast Asia Studies at Argentina’s National University of La Plata reviewed several milestones in the country’s history, highlighting the Dien Bien Phu Victory, which helped end French colonial rule in Vietnam.
Speakers also underlined the fine development in Vietnam-Argentina relations since the two nations established their diplomatic links more than 40 years ago.
Participants expressed their interest in Vietnam’s foreign policies, especially its ties with other Asian countries.
Several Argentinean travel agencies and airlines’ new products and services were introduced, expected to attract more Argentinean people to Vietnam in the future.
In 2013, two-way trade between Vietnam and Argentina was estimated at nearly 1.6 billion USD.-VNA
