Jakarta (VNA) – Vietnam is willing to share with Indonesia its experience in joining the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), a Vietnamese diplomat said.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Hoang Anh Tuan made the statement at a workshop on March 28 in Jakarta, Indonesia, which representatives from other TPP member nations, including Malaysia and Australia, also attended.
Addressing the event, Indonesian Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong stressed the need for his country to gain experience in joining the TPP.
Indonesia should take advantage of trade exchange opportunities, whether through the TPP or through the framework of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) which is under negotiation or through the ASEAN bloc, the host Minister said.
Participants anticipated that Indonesia would encounter opportunities and challenges in joining the agreement, both economically and politically.-VNA
