HCM City (VNA) - Vietnam’s ThaiSon Nam won Lebanon’s Bank of Beirut 6-5 in a thrilling semi-final at the AFCFutsal Club Championship Indonesia 2018 that was held in Indonesia on August10.

With this win, the Vietnamese club hasearned a ticket to the final of the tournament for the first time.

Thai Son Nam have had surprising success inthis tournament after beating three-time Asia champions Nagoya Oceans of Japan3-2 in the quarter-finals, which inspired coach Miguel Rodrigo’s team in thesemi-final encounter against Bank of Beirut.

Thai Son Nam’s win sets up an excitingfinal against Mes Sungun of Iran while Beirut will play Nafit Al Wasat of Irag inthe third-place playoff on August 12.

The AFC Futsal Club Championship 2018 is taking place in Yogyakarta, Indonesiafrom August 1-12 with the participation of 16 clubs. They competed in fourgroups. Vietnam’s Thai Son Nam, the national champions in 2017, are in Group D.-VNA
