Vietnam won additional nine gold medals in the second day of theSoutheast Asian Games on Nov. 13, ranking third with 17 golds in themedal tally.
These gold medals were achieved in the canoeing, shooting, karate, fencing, cycling, track-and field and swimming.
L e Bich Phuong carried off the first gold medal for Vietnam ’skarate team in the women’s kumite 55-kg event on the day with aconvincing 4-0 victory over an Indonesian rival.
MarksmanHa Minh Thanh bagged a gold in the men’s 25m pistol event, while histeammate, Vu Thanh Hung, took the lead in the men’s 50m rifle event with593 points, earning another gold for the Vietnamese shooting team.
In women’s fencing, Nguyen Le Dung had an outstanding performance to clinch a gold medal for Vietnam .
Asof the end of November 12, Vietnam had won eight gold medals, includingtwo in taekwondo, two in karate, two in canoeing and rowing, and one inathletics./.
