Doan Thi Huong Giang brought home the first bronze medal of the 52kg category at the world’s eighth junior taekwondo championship in Tijuana, Mexico.
Giang defeated her rivals from Polynesia, the Netherlands and US to enter the semi-final, where she was beaten by the Republic of Korean competitor.
Two other Vietnamese martial arts, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang and To Minh Nhat also competed in the 46 kg and 63 kg categories, respectively at the championship, which took place from March 6-9/.
